This morning I asked my Russian friend for the translation of "NOT SAFE".
I thought is very important word to know here as they rarely think about safety, so I learned не безопасно , later in the day I would learn how ironic this would be.

Today the company my wife works for celebrated 4 years trading with one of its divisions, so off to the river and a small island they have for Barbecue, Shashlik, games. toasts and drinking and some swimming and speed boat action.
I was hoping to send you some pics but I lost my camera !!!

So why is my word ironic you may ask ???

I have become a victim of the hot weather here and going to the river under the influence of Alcochol !!

Well they have a quality rubber ring type thing (Таблетка) that they tow behind the boat, the driver was very good, but we had a big impact with an unexpected wave and my shoulder dislocated !!!

So off to enjoy the hospitallity of Russian hospitals again !!! Now I am wearing some sort of Straight Jacket for a few days !! and then possible weeks/months of problems due to ligament damage, so no more motorcycle racing or Karate for a few months (Блать блать блать).

So tomorrow I will learn the word ironic
I might be one arm down but I can still laugh, and you know in typical Russian style once I had finished at the hospital it was back to the party !!!

Russians just do not accept the word no, even if spoken in Russian, and one of the first questions my friends asked the doctors was; can we have pain killers which allow drinking?

You know what an English doctor would say [bat.gif] Here the doctor just gave my wife instructions of how she should make me happy :D and painkillers for Russian alcoholics, typical Russians friends tried to convince me that Vodka solves everything

When I have my camera and 2 arms working I will try to post photos!

Oh dear

[icon_sorrys.gif] to hear about your accident and I hope you get better soon.

What you didn't say is: what the Doctor said to Tatiana about keeping you happy? [wink.gif]

Looks like Vodka seems to solve all their problems............. [confused.gif]

Julian,
I hope that you get better soon.

Painkillers that allow drinking, now that is a novel idea.

I would have thought drinking as a painkiller would have been suggested.

Methinks though that Dr Tatiana is the better option than Dr Vodka.

I foolishly thought having an injury may excuse me from drinking or I was hoping !!

I have already had my yearly quota of whiskey and vodka [wink.gif] this visit

but you know how it is out here its just anoher excuse to drink and hey one arm is still working so I can pick up the glass [drinks.gif]

I am told, although my left hand is not so coordinated and I may have to spill some [wink.gif] , guess when I get back not only will my shoulder need looking at but maybe another liver function test [bad.gif]

Dr Roosky, Dr Tatiana or Dr Vodka I am cautious of - might as well go to a Witch doctor!

They might mean well but they just do not understand modern ways, think I will trust my own senses having experienced allot of sport injurys in my time. Just happy its nothing more serious as I would really hate to have an operation here. I have once before experienced 7 days in a hospital here and I am reliably told and they boast I enjoyed VIP treatment and accommodation. Bless these Rooskys they just know nothing about how backwards and bad their country is, stray dogs in the UK get cleaner and better conditions to live in !!

The Russian word I learned on my last vacation was: Malinka (малых) (small...)

My girl is pregnant and all her dresses/coats/sweaters were "Malinka"... She is a bit unhappy now [crying.gif]

Lucky for us though, it won't be long until our family will expand with a new member :D

And you... stop going to the beach... looking other women...... [rolf.gif]

If only.... Lena had been very tactical and we went to "babushka beach" , where the average age was 70+ or below 10years old :-).

I learned another Russian sentance though... We went out with Sveta, one of Lena's best friends and she has a small daughter ... I never heard "Idi su da" so often (come here)
