Hanna passed the Driving test

Well another milestone in her life.......

Hanna today passed the driving test and she can now officially drive on her own.

Thank god for that ..... so now, I can sit and relax, while she is doing the hard work.

Congratulations Hanna. Question however. Did she pass on the first try?

No she did not and cost me, not only money but a bit of hassle ...... because she started loosing her confident and becoming despondent! It was the 3rd time ... "Third time lucky", as we say in the UK.

Previously, since she arrived in the UK, Hanna had passed all the tests at her training in the college, work training, Medicine, Driving theory and living in the UK, with flying colours.

Next goal is the application for British Nationality in the Autumn and British Passport .... so she (we) can be free to travel with no visa to USA.

It took Iren 3 tries as well and I think that is not unusual.

The first time was sort of funny. Being a RW Iren wears heals but can't drive in them so she showed up for the driving test with plans to take it barefoot. The testing guy went ballistic and felt that was illegal and spent 15 minutes going through the book but could not find anything that said you couldn't do it. Then Iren pulled out, up to the stop sign about 20 feet in front of her and stopped. The guy told her to turn left which she did but into the wrong lane so he failed her the first time within 50 feet of the start. The second time, despite the fact in practice she had parallel parking nailed in the test she messed it up for her second failure. The third time she passed.

There must be something to that third try thing.

[thanks.gif] you boys for the good wishes. [veryhappy.gif]

Now my wife wants to drive all the time..... so yesterday, I let her drive us down south in Hastings, around 80 miles, each way, to visit and see the family branch (my grandchildren) from the USA that are here on holidays.

What I noticed is that after she passed her test ...... she was very comfortable and confident and drove very safely both ways, which gave me the chance to sit comfortably and enjoy drinking my coffee and having a smoke! [lol.gif]

I hope soon Hanna will become a very competent driver.......... [clap.gif]

Hello everybody! [hi.gif]
Thank you all for your good wishes, I really appreciate that.

Yes, like Yannis said, I like driving everywhere and I enjoyed it very much. It gives me more freedom and confident.

We have very hot summer this year, which is unusual for England, but people will complain with any type of weather. In Russia we have a song, 'Office Romance' - (There is no bad weather). I hope you enjoy your summer too.[veryhappy.gif]

Thanks you again [wave.gif]
