A very big hello to everyone from us - here in the NE of England.

We've been having a read of some of the interesting posts and can see some familiar faces from another forum.. hello to those guys and everyone who doesnt recognise us.

My wife has been here permanently in the UK for just over 2 years, we've just submitted the ILR application. She loves the UK - warts and all.

I'm interested in all things Russian - particularly history and travel. Have just finally completed 'War and Peace' and am currently reading about the Stalin period.. very very dark times. 2 good books sitting on the shelf waiting for me, one is 'A hero of our time' by Mikhail Lermontov (maybe we should start an online russki book-swap club??)

It's been a 5 year journey for us both, we have lots still to learn and maybe we have lots to tell also. We're looking forward to joining in the fun

Thanks Yannis - for the Invite

Hello Roy and Tania

and [welcome1.gif] to the board.

Your new name took me by surprise and it can't be true ....... [tonque.gif]
Why don't you stick to your old name on the other site? (I can change it if you want!)

I see also that you don't use your usual avatar .... or you are shy to upload it? [wink.gif]

Any how, yes we have many familiar faces around but Mel, has work to do in his dacha, Malcolm ...... busy probably making the rounds of the pubs in east London..... Gary chasing a woman, (I understand) and as you see Rasboinik keeping an eye. if we behave or not and on what is going on on UKBA........ while on holiday!

Later I will take a look and create a subforum for the book club, and will use some of your comments to start a thread!

Sorry for not posting earlier ..... but while her indoors is at home..... I must help cooking, washing and doing all the man's jobs around the house and yes she always finds something to keep me out of my hobby and as a pensioner I have not any excuses to avoid these jobs!

Once more welcome and thank you for the nice comments about the board.
I hope we can have fun and you can pool my leg as long as you like! [biggrin.gif]

Best regards to Tania

wiz

Amorus ImageandImage to the forum.

Are you who Image ?

I bloody hope so and the reason that I say this is because it will be great if we can share the same banter as we have had elsewhere.

Awww Raffi.. you went all the way to RR to get my old avatar.. yes, its me.

Wiz wants me to change my name but I cant - cos Amorus is my better half's idea. But I cant tell you what that idea is, else I'll be at risk of getting thrown off the site at my second posting.
