I am new, so I do not know about all the past discussions. But, can I please ask you guys who are married or about to be married or really want this cool Russian woman... what if she says:

'I love you sweetheart, but I am sorry, I just cannot live in the USA; but marry me and let us live in Russia'

...or if already in the west ...

'I love you so much Husband, but I am terribly unhappy here in the west; please, let us move our family and have our lives in Russia'

Seriously guys. What do you do? :) :)

Been there, done that. The answer: Fight the homesickness in the foreign country and find out exactly WHAT makes her unhappy.

In my case it proved to be something that was hard to change but we made it.

Advice:
- Get her a dayjob asap!!! Doesn't matter if she makes money, just make her feel useful outside her new house/relationship
- Give her free time to find new friends locally to you.
- Let her learn public transport / driver license also quickly, giving her a way to get from the house by herself.

Five years married and still, from time to time, get the feeling of duty to her mum.......
