I found the "globus" shopping centre and the underground church very interesting.

Didn't buy anything though in Globus.

They also have a nice Restaurant on the first floor in an Oriental setup that has entertainment while you eat. (very little fabric in the clothing type of entertainment).

The "Globus" underground centre in Kiev is a very interesting place to visit.

In there you can find too many shops selling nearly everything you can think off, basker musicians, flowers, books and also plenty of fast food restaurants, bars and coffee bars.

On the photo galleria on the right there are many coffee bars and restaurnts and you can sit there and view the Independent Square.

I agree that Globus shopping center is a great place to wonder around. The other one at the other end of Krashatik is also cool.

The opera in Kiev is great.

My favorite thing in Kiev was always the catacombs at the Lavre. They are hard to find if you haven't been to them. There is a walkway to the right rear where you go down a steep hill and on the left is the entrance. Buy a candle and hold it with your fingers cupped to catch the dripping wax and wandering through the tight passages and seeing all the bodies to me was very cool.

The upper part of the Lavre is also a moderately interesting way to kill a few hours.

You can always play pool or bowl as well.

There are some interesting churches to go through in Kiev and there are a lot of cool parks.

Yes I agree the Lavre and catacoombs is a good place to visit, very unusual and unique. We paid for a personal guide that took the trouble to explain everything to us, didn't cost that much but worth it to help you understand the place.
