Hi all, hope you can help me here. i am uk citizen and have a Russian girlf that i want to meet in Europe in the early summer. I understand she will need a Schengen visa but i am in the dark as to how she can obtain one. I intend taking her to Greece but if this isn't possible it will likely be Spain. many thanks in advance [happy.gif]

Hi and Welcome :)

What your girlfriend needs to do is find a local Greek or Spanish embassy near where she lives and apply in person for the schengen visa to the country which you would like to visit

Unfortunately you can not do this for her she must do this herself :)

Hope this helps, if you give us a bit more information then we might be able to offer some further advice :)

Also, if/when she applies for the Visa, it'll be good that she has plane and hotel reservations as they'll be looking for that. My FSUW (Natasha) usually gets online with the countries embassy for the specific information, like Sparky mentioned, she'll need to do this part herself.

Related to Greece, a fair number of FSU visitors go there so I hope she does not get too much of a hassle. Also, if you do not mind Turkey, it's a typical destination for FSUW with no visa worries and similar weather, just no Parthenon.

Good Luck!

If you want to visit Greece this is the Greek Consulate site in Moscow: http://hellas.ru

It's in Russian and your friend can find out the information there.

and here is the requirements. http://hellas.ru/sections/consul/consul3.shtml

I think it will be better if she visits one of the Travel agencies selling holidays to Greece and they know how and what she has to do to get her the Schegen visa for her holiday!

I think the Greeks now are not that difficult........ but I maybe wrong!
